  5. Mockingjay Ending?

    WARNING: DO NOT READ IF YOU DO NOT WISH FOR THE ENDING OF THG TO BE RUINED FOR YOU.

    So.. I just finished reading Mockingjay and I somewhat fail to understand all the fuss behind its ending. I mean, yes some of the deaths towards the end were completely unnecessary, but it didn’t affect me to much extent. The ending sort of fit perfectly for me being a Peeta+Katniss supporter along with the fact the The Hunger Games were completely abolished and Coin was assasinated. 

    So, anyone care to share their thoughts as to why the ending wasn’t up to most people’s expectations?

    Just realized that ‘Mockingjay’ is the LAST book in The Hunger Games series. I was so caught up in the storyline that it didn’t occur to me that this will be the end of everything..

    So just finished reading Catching Fire…………..
    AND WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK WAS THAT ENDING. LIKE FUCKING HELL EVERYTHING HAPPENED SO DAMN FAST. I AM FLIPPING MY SHIT RIGHT NOW. MY HEART IS RACING LIKE A MOTHERFUCKING JETPLANE. I WANT PEETA BACK :(

    (Favorite scene in Catching Fire)

    “By late afternoon I lie with my head in Peeta’s lap making a crown of flowers while he fiddles with my hair claiming he is practicing knots. After awhile his hands go still.
    “What?” I ask.
    “I wish I could freeze this moment, right here, right now, and live in it forever,” he says.
    Usually this sort of comment, the kind that hints his undying love for me, makes me feel guilty and awful. But I’m so relaxed and beyond worrying about a future I’ll never have, I just let the word slip out.
    “Okay,” I say.
    I can hear the smile in his voice. “Then you’ll allow it?”
    “I’ll allow it.”
